Identity

“I don’t really know who to be around you anymore. I feel like I’m losing myself, in an orgy of personas. The vibrations, of all these fictional bodies violently rubbing against me, are sort of erasing my sense of identity.”

“Why don’t you try something different then?”

“Like what?”

“Why don’t you just try being yourself for a while… and if I don’t like it, that’s okay. I don’t need to be in love with you, to love you. I don’t have to be your lover, to be your friend. You don’t need my friendship, to validate yourself as a person. There’s no sense in wanting you for what you’re not. There’s no value in loving you, if “you” don’t exist. So, why don’t we just focus on what you are… and see where it goes from there?”

“I want to be good… better… for you.”

“And that’s the worst thing you could possibly do to yourself… to me… to us. All I want, is know the real you. Will you let me, please?”
