Liminal Words and Temporary Worlds: FAQ
Noelle’s Note: I just created this project/blog.
_________________________
If you are thinking about deactivating your original writing blog, please send me a message.
I’d like to talk to you about a new project that I’m working on. I’ve created an “anonymous” collective blog called Liminal Words and Temporary Worlds. I’d like it to be a sort of temporary workspace/sanctuary for TWC writers who are feeling burnt out, or fed up with the TWC, but are still interested in keeping some sort of presence here and to continue writing, until they decide what they want to do with their original blog, or while they work on creating a new one.
Why an anonymous, collective blog?
- Because I believe that part of the pressure and frustration that causes good writers to deactivate is worrying that we’re not posting “good enough” material to your own blog. So, instead of writing, we get obsessed with “quality control”. We also tend to focus on things like number of followers, features, and likes. Which can often suck the joy out of writing on Tumblr, and leave us feeling insecure, or disgruntled.
- An anonymous collective blog allows us to write whatever we want, without the stressing about quality, content, language, and/or community relationships. At the same time, we get the immediate gratification of being able to post publicly. Instead of having a million little anon blogs, why not work together and create something interesting?
How will it work?
- Just submit a request that includes an email where I can invite you to join the blog. You will be assigned a number to tag your posts with. Please make sure to save this number, I will not be recording which number belongs to what writer. This way, if you want to keep track of your own writing, or edit/delete any of your posts, you have easy access [Simply visit liminalwords.tumblr.com, find a post tagged with your number and click it. This will show all of your posts].
What can I write?
- Anything you want. Prose, Fiction, Non-Fic, Erotica, Rants, Streams of Consciousness. Content, quality, subject matter. None of it matters. Just try to relax. Write something. Give no fucks.
When can I leave?
- Whenever you want. Just select the Liminal Words blog from the dropdown menu on the right side of your tumblr dash. Navigate down the list to “Members” and then select “Leave Blog” (but if you want to delete your posts before you leave, see instructions on how to see all of your posts at the end of the “How will this work” section of this FAQ.)
What if I decide I want to use my posts on my own blog?
- Your writing is your writing, to do with as you please. But, if you decide to share posts that make it obvious who you are on the Liminal Words blog, please send me a message to request a new number. If you leave the blog, and want to return, please send a new join request and you will receive a new number.
I hope some of you will decide to participate, especially if you’re thinking about deactivating. As soon as I get at least 1 other writer, I will also start posting to the blog. Please share this if you like the idea.
Thanks, Lovelies!
